Wally and the Joy of Giving

Mads class has a class "pet" if you will. His name is Wally and I don't know what he really is. Maybe a Badger? I have no idea. Regardless if you re on green all week and have a really good week you get to take him home for the weekend, take him EVERYWHERE, take pictures and write about it in your journal. He comes with his own journal and photo album that you add to at the end of your weekend. EVERY Friday Mad gets in the car and says "I DIDN'T GET WALLY!!!". Apparently its a big deal. SO the big deal came to the Hamby house yesterday as Mad jumped in the car and screamed "I GOT WALLY!!!!"
We started off our afternoon by Wally meeting our Elf, Jingle (who forgot to go see Santa last night, AGAIN!!!) Then Wally, Mad and Alex packed up for a night out to dinner with Noni and Alan, followed by a sleepover at their house.

This morning my school had their annual fundraiser the "joy of giving". Its a HUGE silent auction as well as crafts, game, jumpy-things, face painting, a FREE Santa, and secret Santa shop. Wally came along for the ride.

Mad coloring while patiently waiting to see Santa. We waited right at an hour. The great thing about the Santa at our school is he actually talks to the kids for a good amount of time. His downfall is that he talks to them for a descent amount of time. The line takes forever. But its worth it in the end...

Alex got tired of standing so he and his friend Owen settled for the floor.

We love Santa! No one screamed this year. I guess its about time. They ARE 4 and nearly 7.

Santa passed out beanie babies and candy canes. Mads candy cane asked her to pray for our troops, Alex's asked him to pray for his friends. They did just that before they chowed down on them.

After Joy of Giving we went to play Santa to Thad (IE, we took him some of Alex's old toys). Seriously one of the cutest a coolest kiddos around. Thad got in on the Wally action too.

Mad loves the babies! Especially when they're this cute!
