4 weeks later

4 weeks ago we headed up to Franklin, North Carolina to visit my uncle and aunt and my moms cousin from Germany and his wife (oh and my other aunt rode along for the trip). It was nice to get away, even if just for a day, and the kids loved heading up to the mountains. It was also the first day of Cobb Countys week long fall break...so Madison had a project for the week...flat Stanley. If you dont know who flat Stanley is hes a character from a book who is flattened and can now visit anyone via snail-mail. Mad's project was to get him to go places 'fun'. So he came along with us to visit our relatives from Germany in the mountains of North Carolina....

My aunt and uncle live in a cabin with a porch 3/4 around the house on top of a mountain. Mad was in heaven.

They also have 4 dogs, who Mad and Alex (of course) adored. Tripp was Mads favorite because she only had 3 legs.

This is probably one of my favorite pictures from the trip. Alex has only met my uncle once, and he was all of 1 years old. I think pictures like these are priceless, they must have been having an in depth conversation about all of Alex's "cars" cars. He has quite the obsessive collection. 2 boys, on a bench, at a table on a porch. Good livin'.

Mad, Uncle D and....flat Stanley! ps...my uncle is the coolest uncle going, he's always been my favorite since I was little. Can you play favorites with family? (who's the creeper in the back?)

Mad and the Noni....grandmasNoni....yea...that one backfired. My mom wanted to be called Noni so my kids wouldnt grow up calling her grandma. Too bad they thought (for a while) that her actaul name was Noni...hence why she was grandma Noni for a while. Theyve since figured out her real name is Lynn, and we should call her JUST Noni. No grandmas here.

....and can you guess who this friend is? Mad specially requested flat Stanley to go to Texas to see the coolest Aunt ever. Although she was super busy and in and out of town she got the job done. Big props to the coolest aunt out there....
